Wed, Oct 21We don’t publish NBA totals. Our 18,552-game backtest has them at 48.3% — worse than a coin flip. We’d rather show nothing than a losing pick.
Tonight’s slate from a margin-adjusted Elo — home edge 2.75, k=26, prior-season carryover — with an offensive/defensive efficiency model and a rest-day adjustment. The model never sees the betting line; the line is only the benchmark we measure against. Same honesty rules as every sport here: every pick published before tip-off, every result graded in public.
We pulled NBA over/unders. The 18,552-game backtest has them at 48.3% — worse than a coin flip — so we’d rather show nothing than a losing pick. The receipts are on the track record and calibration pages.
Early season -- the model's ratings are still warming up on this season's games: it has not yet seen five regular-season games per team, so the ratings lean on prior seasons more than usual. Treat these picks as experimental and provisional.
Model probabilities for entertainment. Our backtest shows no proven edge vs the closing line — track record published openly.
The honest fine print: parlays multiply the book’s edge along with the payout. And our model’s confidence is unproven until the backtest says otherwise. Entertainment, not a strategy.
